Sugar Rush

Sugar Rush overview – a Pragmatic Play favourite

The Sugar Rush game arrived in the summer of 2022 from the Pragmatic Play workshop and quickly became a worthy companion to Sweet Bonanza – many consider it the studio's best cluster slot outright. On the 7×7 candy grid, the stars are not the symbols but the positions: every winning spot remembers itself and can build a multiplier.

The essence of the Sugar Rush slot is the stacking multiplier grid: if a win lands on the same position repeatedly, the multiplier starts at 2x and doubles with every hit, all the way up to 128x. During the free spins these multipliers never disappear, so the grid gradually turns into a minefield – in the player's favour.

Sugar Rush is available at online casinos both for real money and in free demo mode.

Theme and design

The game world is a neon-lit candy kingdom: jelly bears, hard candies and glittering sweets spin against a purple-pink background decorated with lollipop trees and meringue clouds. The visual style is brighter and more "digital" than Sweet Bonanza's pastel world – the flare-up of the multiplier spots is a genuinely spectacular moment. The upbeat electronic music fits the tempo of the chain reactions well. The clean yet fast-paced look is one of the game's most praised elements among players.

Gameplay and mechanics

Sugar Rush runs on a 7×7 grid with cluster pays: at least five matching symbols must touch horizontally or vertically. After a win, the Tumble mechanic removes the winning symbols and new ones drop into their place. Every winning position gets marked: after the first hit it receives a 2x multiplier, which doubles with every further win up to 128x. In the base game the multipliers reset at the end of the round, but during the free spins they persist throughout. An Ante Bet and a bonus buy for 100x your bet are also available.

RTP and volatility

Sugar Rush's default RTP is 96.5%, a better-than-average figure – but Pragmatic Play offers operators several versions, so a 95.5% or 94.5% setting may apply at some casinos. You can always check the exact value on the game's info panel. Volatility is high (5/5): alongside the base game's smaller returns, the truly big wins are born in the free spins on the built-up multiplier grid. The slot suits patient, bonus-hunting players.

Jackpot – maximum win

Sugar Rush is not a progressive jackpot slot: the maximum win is 5,000x your bet. Reaching it typically requires building large connected multiplier zones during the free spins and then hitting them dead-on with a huge cluster. When the ceiling is reached, the game round closes immediately and the 5,000x is paid out.

How to play the Sugar Rush slot

Sugar Rush's rules are quickly learned, but the logic of the multiplier grid is worth exploring first in the free Sugar Rush demo. The steps for real-money play are:

1. Pick a reliable online casino from our toplist where the Sugar Rush casino game is available.
2. Register, complete verification and activate the welcome bonus.
3. Deposit funds by bank card, e-wallet or another available method.
4. Open the game and set your bet between €0.20 and €100.
5. Spin, build the chain reactions and hunt the scatters – 3 already trigger the bonus.
6. You can withdraw your winnings at any time in the casino's cashier menu.

Because of the high volatility, lower stakes are recommended at the start – your balance lasts longer and you have more chances of making it to the bonus round.

Sugar Rush symbols and payouts table

Sugar Rush's payouts depend on the size of the cluster: 5 touching symbols already pay, and clusters of 15 or more earn the maximum multiplier. The jelly bear is the most valuable symbol. Values are expressed as multiples of your bet.

The exact table can be found in the in-game info menu, as the values for intermediate cluster sizes climb gradually.

Special features of Sugar Rush

Sugar Rush lifts the seemingly simple cluster mechanic to a new level with a brilliant twist: the position-based multiplier system. This feature – complemented by the free spins and the bonus buy – gives the game its real depth and win potential.

Stacking multiplier spots

Every winning position gets marked on the grid; the first repeated hit activates a 2x multiplier, which doubles with every further win: 4x, 8x, 16x, 32x, 64x, and finally 128x. A well-built multiplier zone can turn even the smallest cluster into a serious win.

Free spins with persistent multipliers

Three or more scatters trigger 10 free spins. During the bonus, the multiplier spots never reset until the end of the round, so the board grows more valuable spin by spin. Three more scatters restart the bonus with another 10 spins.

Ante Bet and bonus buy

The Ante Bet doubles the chance of the bonus for a 25% higher stake, and with the Bonus Buy feature the free spins can be purchased instantly for 100x your bet.

Sugar Rush demo mode

The Sugar Rush demo at the top of this page can be played for free, with no registration or download. The demo version runs on a virtual balance; the RTP, the multiplier system and the bonuses exactly match the real-money variant. Since the workings of the multiplier spots aren't self-evident at first, a few demo rounds are especially useful: you can observe risk-free how the zones build up and how often the free spins arrive.

Sugar Rush on mobile devices

Sugar Rush is built with HTML5 technology, so it can be played straight from the browser on iOS and Android devices, without downloading a separate Sugar Rush app. The square 7×7 grid fits phone screens excellently, the multipliers and animations are clearly visible even on small displays, and the controls are optimised for touch. The slot can also be found in most casinos' mobile apps, with the same account, balance and features as the desktop version.

How to increase your chances in Sugar Rush – tips for players

Sugar Rush's results are decided by a random number generator, so a guaranteed winning method doesn't exist – but by managing your bankroll wisely and knowing the game, you can get far more out of every session. Advice from experienced players:

• Learn how the multiplier spots work in the free Sugar Rush demo mode before playing with real money.
• Set a fixed budget and never exceed it – high volatility can bring long dry spells.
• Choose a bet that covers at least 150–200 spins.
• Check the RTP version on the info panel and prefer casinos offering 96.5%.
• The Ante Bet is worth it if you're specifically hunting the bonus round.
• Take advantage of welcome bonuses and free spins, but read the wagering requirements.

The most important rule: Sugar Rush is a sweet treat, not a main course – play responsibly, within your entertainment budget.
