Gates of Olympus

Gates of Olympus overview – a Pragmatic Play flagship

The Gates of Olympus game was released in February 2021 and has since become Pragmatic Play's absolute flagship – players often simply call it the "Zeus slot". The 6×5 grid sits before the gates of Olympus, where the lightning-hurling god himself decides on the multipliers.

The Gates of Olympus slot is built on the scatter-pays system known from Sweet Bonanza: 8 matching symbols anywhere on the grid award a win, and the Tumble mechanic sets off chain reactions. The real attraction lies in the multiplier orbs worth between 2x and 500x, which can appear on any spin.

Gates of Olympus can be played at leading online casinos both for real money and in free demo mode.

Theme and design

The game evokes the majestic world of Greek mythology: marble columns, golden gates and a stormy sky form the backdrop, while next to the reels stands Zeus himself, hurling lightning at the grid with every bigger win. Among the symbols you'll find a crown, an hourglass, a ring, a chalice and colourful gems. The epic soundtrack and thundering sound effects reinforce the atmosphere perfectly. Few slots convey the feeling that "a big win could come at any moment" as well as this one, according to its fans.

Gameplay and mechanics

Gates of Olympus runs on 6 reels and 5 rows without paylines: at least 8 matching symbols anywhere on the screen award a payout. After a win, the Tumble feature removes the winning symbols and new ones drop into their place. Zeus's multiplier orbs, worth from 2x to 500x, can appear at any moment; if the spin ends with a win, all visible multipliers are added together and multiply the total win. Four or more scatters trigger 15 free spins, and both an Ante Bet and a Bonus Buy feature for 100x your bet are also available.

RTP and volatility

Gates of Olympus has a default RTP of 96.5%, better than the industry average, but casinos may configure a lower version of 94.5% or even less – you can always check this on the game's info screen. Volatility is high (5/5): smaller returns are frequent in the base game, while the truly big sums come from the accumulating multipliers of the free spins. This slot is for players who accept bigger swings in exchange for outstanding win potential.

Jackpot – maximum win

There is no progressive jackpot in the game; the maximum win is 5,000x your bet. At the maximum €125 stake, that can mean up to €625,000 in a single round. Reaching the 5,000x ceiling typically requires the global multiplier accumulated during free spins to line up with several high-value Zeus orbs.

How to play the Gates of Olympus slot

Gates of Olympus is simple to operate, since there are no paylines to follow – the key is choosing the right bet and managing your bankroll. It's worth getting acquainted with the free Gates of Olympus demo first. Real-money play works like this:

1. Pick a reliable online casino from our toplist where the Gates of Olympus casino game is available.
2. Create an account, complete verification and claim the welcome bonus.
3. Deposit funds using a payment method convenient for you.
4. Open the game and set your bet between €0.20 and €125.
5. Spin and watch for Zeus multipliers and scatters – 4 of them already trigger the bonus round.
6. You can withdraw your winnings at any time in the cashier menu.

Because of the high volatility, low stakes and longer sessions are recommended for beginners.

Gates of Olympus symbols and payouts table

The payout depends on the number of matching symbols on the grid: 8–9, 10–11 or 12+ symbols pay increasingly bigger multipliers. The crown is the most valuable symbol, the blue gem the lowest. Values are expressed as multiples of your bet.

Special features of Gates of Olympus

The power of Gates of Olympus lies in its multiplier system: the randomly arriving Zeus orbs and the global multiplier accumulating during free spins together create win potential found in few other slots. The features below make the game truly unique.

Zeus's multiplier orbs

Multiplier orbs worth between 2x and 500x can appear on any spin. If the round ends with a win, all multipliers on the grid are added together and multiply the total win – so even a single lucky spin can deliver a huge payout.

Free spins with an accumulating multiplier

Four or more Zeus scatters award 15 free spins. During the bonus, every collected multiplier is added to a global counter that never resets until the end of the round and applies to every further win. Three more scatters are worth 5 extra spins.

Ante Bet and Bonus Buy

The Ante Bet raises your stake by 25% in exchange for doubling the chance of the bonus. More impatient players can purchase the free spins instantly for 100x their bet with the Bonus Buy feature.

Gates of Olympus demo mode

The Gates of Olympus demo is available for free, with no registration or download, in the game window at the top of this page. The demo version runs on a virtual balance; everything else – RTP, multipliers, bonus round – matches the real-money game. It's the best way to test risk-free how often the Zeus multipliers arrive and to experience the game's true volatility before putting money on the line.

Gates of Olympus on mobile devices

Gates of Olympus is built on HTML5, so it can be played from the browser on every modern smartphone and tablet, without a separate Gates of Olympus app. The interface works flawlessly in both portrait and landscape mode, and the Zeus animations and lightning effects appear in full glory on mobile too. If a casino offers its own app for iOS or Android, the slot can be found there as well, with identical features and balance.

How to increase your chances in Gates of Olympus – tips for players

The outcome of Gates of Olympus is determined by a random number generator, so a guaranteed winning method doesn't exist. By following a few rules, however, experienced players manage their balance more efficiently and give themselves more chances at the big multiplier rounds:

• Practise first in the free Gates of Olympus demo to learn the game's rhythm.
• Allocate a pre-fixed budget and stick to it under all circumstances.
• Choose a bet that covers at least 100–200 spins – the bonus round rarely comes quickly.
• Check the RTP version and prefer casinos offering the 96.5% one.
• Switch on the Ante Bet if you're specifically hunting the bonus round.
• Take advantage of casino bonuses, but always read the terms before withdrawing.

And most importantly: the game is entertainment – if it stops being that, take a break.
